COMMERCIAL ROOF TO WALL
CONNECTION UPGRADES

A solid foundation

FROM WALL TO ROOF

ROOF TO WALL CONNECTION UPGRADES:

At Colonial Roofing, we provide expert roof-to-wall connection upgrades to meet or exceed building code requirements. Strengthening these connections not only protects your property from severe weather but can also help reduce insurance costs by improving your building’s wind mitigation rating.

SECURE YOUR ROOF THROUGH THE STORM.

For commercial buildings, the roof-to-wall connection is a crucial structural component that helps secure your roof to the rest of the building. Proper reinforcement in this area improves wind resistance, reduces the risk of roof uplift, and enhances overall structural integrity. With hurricanes increasing in intensity, upgrading these connections can mean the difference between minor repairs and catastrophic damage.

Florida Building Code Section 706.8 requires improved roof-to-wall connections during roof replacement on structures valued at $300,000 or more in wind-borne debris regions. This applies when the roof deck is made of wood planks, sawn lumber, or structural panels. The required retrofit must follow Section 706.8.1 but is capped at a 15% increase in reroofing costs. (Structures built under current code are exempt.)
